Wheaton College

Wheaton College is a private liberal arts college in Wheaton, Illinois. CE installed photovoltaic systems on portions of the roofs of Chrouser Sports Complex and Armerding Center for Music and the Arts, and on carports built in the east Billy Graham Hall parking lot in addition to a 2MW battery storage system.

The solar project offsets approximately 10% of the campus’s electrical consumption, while the battery reduces their peak usage, provides backup power, and helps stabilize the grid. To anyone driving onto campus, the carport solar presents a highly visible demonstration of the College’s commitment to a sustainable future with energy resilience, financial savings, hand-on learning, and creation care.
